She also performed a season of summer stock theater in the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts in such plays as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. Ann was discovered when she performed at the Vogue Fashion Show together with her band. Within a week editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland had Ann shoot her very first Vogue cover with photographer Richard Avedon. Ann was among America's most well-known models, appearing on the cover of leading magazines, including Vogue Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and numerous others. After two years Ann began to appear on international fashion shows performing well throughout Europe and Japan in the role of face of major cosmetic brands like Max Factor Revlon and Chanel.
